Moraldenom was founded in 2014 by Lucia Ferrante and Marco Bellini, two interior designers who kept encountering the same frustration — clients would spend months perfecting their living rooms, then furnish their balconies with folding chairs from the supermarket. They opened a studio on Via Tortona dedicated entirely to terraces, loggias, and rooftop corners: the spaces where Milanese life spills outdoors from April through October, and sometimes beyond.
Today we are a team of six — two lead designers, a surveyor, a project coordinator, and two installation specialists who know how to navigate narrow stairwells and strict building administrators. We do not build swimming pools or landscape entire villas. We do one thing well: outdoor rooms at apartment scale.
Our story in Milan
2014 — Studio opens in a ground-floor space on Via Tortona, initially serving the design district and Navigli.
2017 — Expanded into Brera and Porta Venezia; developed our weatherproof materials library with Italian and European suppliers.
2020 — Launched remote consultation packages during lockdown; many clients used the pause to rethink unused balconies.
2023 — Opened the Tortona showroom with full-scale mock-ups of railing systems, awnings, and modular seating.
2026 — Over 340 completed projects across Milano and the Lombard hinterland.
The team
Lucia Ferrante
Co-founder & Lead Designer
Lucia trained at Politecnico di Milano and spent eight years in residential interiors before co-founding Moraldenom. She specialises in compact layouts — the kind where every centimetre counts and drainage cannot be an afterthought.
Marco Bellini
Co-founder & Technical Director
Marco handles structural feasibility, administrator submissions, and coordination with installers. He speaks the language of regolamenti di condominio fluently and has sat through more assemblee than he cares to count.
Giulia Moretti
Senior Designer
Giulia leads our terrace furnishing projects — dining setups, lounge corners, and integrated planter systems. She maintains our fabric and finish library at the Tortona showroom.
Andrea Russo
Project Coordinator
Andrea is your main point of contact once a project is approved. He tracks deliveries, schedules installation windows, and makes sure the right bolts arrive before the fitters do.
What we believe
Honest specifications
We tell you when a product is wrong for your exposure or budget. A cheaper alternative that lasts beats an expensive mistake.
Neighbour-aware design
Your balcony is shared airspace. We design for privacy without hostility — screens, planting, and lighting that respect the building.
Season-proof thinking
Milan gets hot summers, cold winters, and sudden hail. Every material we specify is rated for Lombardy conditions, not Mediterranean holiday homes.
