A Milan balcony is rarely generous. Most measure between 3 and 8 square metres, share a wall with neighbours, and sit under rules about what can protrude beyond the railing. That is exactly the puzzle we enjoy solving. Moraldenom specialises in balconies where every decision — fold direction, planter depth, awning projection — has to earn its place.
Balcony types we work with
Loggia balconies
Recessed into the facade with a ceiling overhead. Better weather protection but limited light. We exploit the ceiling for hanging planters and slim LED strips, and use wall-mounted fold tables to keep the floor clear.
Juliet balconies
Full-width doors opening to a railing without usable floor depth. We design railing-mounted tables, vertical herb gardens, and screen systems that create privacy without blocking light to the room behind.
Corner wraparound
Two-sided exposure means wind from multiple directions. We specify heavier base planters, wind-rated awnings, and furniture that can be repositioned seasonally.
Penthouse setbacks
Larger than typical but often subject to strict visual impact rules. We use neutral palettes and integrated planting to satisfy administrators while delivering genuine outdoor living space.

Common balcony challenges we solve
Weight limits: Many condominiums cap load at 350 kg per square metre. We calculate planter, furniture, and saturated soil weights before specifying.
Drainage: Water pooling on concrete destroys finishes and annoys neighbours below. We specify raised decking, drainage mats, and planters with overflow channels.
Wind: Upper-floor balconies in Porta Nuova and CityLife face sustained gusts. We choose lower-profile furniture, weighted bases, and retractable screens rated to 80 km/h.
Privacy: Bamboo screens, staggered planting, and frosted glass panels create separation without the fortress aesthetic that administrators reject.
